JUCO Eligibility

Yesterday, Dennis Dobb of CBS Sports reported that 16 national coaches associations have written to the NCAA Division I Board of Governors to support the NJCAA in modifying NJCAA eligibility requirements. Kudos to these associations and NJCAA CEO, Dr. Christopher Parker. The NJCAA is arguing that there are different standards for 2-year student-athletes than their 4-year peers in 3 areas: academics, transfer, and seasons of competition. They are not wrong, as there is a different set of rules for athletes transferring from community colleges. For this essay, I am going focus on the academic side of the house.
